Introduction

Church Connector ("we," "our," or "the App") is a communication and formation platform for churches and faith-based organizations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Church Connector mobile application and related services.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information: When you register through your church or organization, we store a device identifier and your organizational membership. We do not require personal email addresses or passwords for member accounts.

Content You Provide: Prayer requests, event RSVPs, group messages, discussion posts, and other content you voluntarily submit within your organization.

Device Information: We collect push notification tokens to deliver announcements, event reminders, and prayer updates. We also collect basic device identifiers for authentication purposes.

Crash and Performance Data: We use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance metrics to improve app stability. This data is anonymous and not linked to your identity.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

Provide and maintain the App's core features including announcements, events, prayer requests, groups, and discipleship tools. Deliver push notifications you have opted into. Improve app reliability through crash and performance monitoring. Authenticate your device and maintain your session.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Content you post is visible to members of your organization as determined by your church administrators. We share data with the following service providers solely to operate the App:

Sentry for crash reporting and performance monitoring. Expo for push notification delivery. Stripe for processing donations (if your organization accepts donations through the App). Stripe processes payment information directly; we never store your credit card details.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your content is retained as long as your organization is active on the platform. If you leave an organization or request deletion, your contributed content is soft-deleted and removed from view. You may request complete data deletion by contacting your church administrator or by emailing us directly.

Security

Authentication tokens are stored using encrypted device storage (Secure Store). All communication between the App and our servers uses HTTPS. Passwords for administrative accounts are hashed using Argon2. We implement rate limiting and request validation to protect against abuse.

Children's Privacy

Church Connector is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You may opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings. To exercise any of these rights, contact your church administrator or reach out to us directly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by updating the date at the top of this page.
